First Lady of Azerbaijan inaugurates secondary school in Pirshagi and attends Novruz festivities in special school in Nasimi District
First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended on Thursday an inauguration of the secondary school No112 in the small town of Pirshagi, Sabunchi district reconstructed with funding of the Foundation, AzerTac state news agency reported.
The old building built in 1934 was in poor conditions. The construction of the new building was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in December 2011. The total area of the new building is 38 thousand sq. meters. The school will employ 51 teachers. It has a military training computer classroom.
The school has collection of 200 fiction books and 13 thousand books. The classrooms were provided with visual aids and equipment, school supplies as part of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation-led Education Support project.
Given the big number of school pupils, an auxiliary building was constructed for this school in 2005 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. It allowed the school to partially meet the existing needs.
The premises around the school were rebuilt and improved.
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met with the teaching staff of the school and congratulated them with the opening of the new building and the upcoming Novruz Bayram.
Then, the First Lady arrived at the special school for disabled
children in the Nasimi district.
First, Mehriban Aliyeva got familiar with the exhibition of pupils`
works. The exhibition featured over hundred works. Mehriban Aliyeva
took part in the festive event in the school.
Speaking at the event, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation
Mehriban Aliyeva said,
"I am very glad to see you today in particular in such a festive
mood. I cordially congratulate you on the upcoming Novruz Bayram. I
was in your school for the first time ten years ago. Children who
studied in the first grade then are now in the 9-10th grades of
studies.
I want to say that the orphanage and boarding school development
program implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation began with your
school. Tens of schools have been reconstructed and repaired since
then. I am very glad to be with you together every year on the eve
of this holiday. I am very delighted that our children get a good
education and grow. I am very glad that you study in such good
conditions. I want to note that I come to see you every time with
good feelings."
The schoolchildren were presented with the gifts of the Heydar
Aliyev Foundation.
The First Lady of Azerbaijan viewed classrooms and gave her
instructions on the repair work.
The school built in 1927 was reconstructed by the Foundation in 2003.
