High-tech park to be set up in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Monday signed a decree on
the establishment of the High Technology Park in the country.
According to the decree, the High-tech Park is a territory which
has the necessary infrastructure, material and technical basis,
management structures for preparation of new and high technologies,
research in the field of energy efficiency, space and
telecommunications, information technology and communications.
Joint organization of events by the Ministries of Communication and
Information Technology, Economic Development, Education, and the
National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan should be ensured.
The High Tech Park is being established under the Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology for the organization and
management of the Park.
Reorganization and (or) the abolition of the company is executed by
the President of Azerbaijan.
The Cabinet of Ministers is instructed to ensure the transfer of 30
ha territory of superphosphate plant, which is subordinated to
Azerkimya of SOCAR, to the company.
The Ministry of Taxes and the State Committee for Property Affairs
is instructed to take measures for the state registration of the
High Tech Park.
