Azerbaijan plans to buy fighter jets from Pakistan

Azerbaijan plans to purchase JF-17 Thunder combat aircraft jointly manufactured by Pakistan and China, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) company told the Baku-based APA news agency.
The company, which is participating at the Dubai Airshow aviation exhibition, currently implements orders of the Pakistani air force, while exports of its warplanes to Azerbaijan are possible only in the coming years. The two countries have already agreed upon initial volume of supplies.
As part of the exhibition, JF-17 Thunder warplanes underwent test flights. Members of the Azerbaijani delegation were among those who watched the planes hovering in the sky above Dubai’s main airport.
JF-17 Thunder warplanes have specifications similar to those of MiG-29 planes available in the Azerbaijani air force. The planes have advanced maneuvering capabilities.
