Azeris lead on number of foreign students in Turkey
3,540 Azerbaijani students attend universities in Turkey, the biggest number among foreign nationals studying in the country, Turkish media reported.
A total of over 26,000 foreign citizens from 147 countries are enrolled in Turkish universities.
Azerbaijan is followed by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for the number students (3,503), Turkmenistan (2,929), Iran (1,305), Bulgaria and Germany (1,143 each), and Greece (1,099).
The number of foreign students has increased 59 percent in Turkey in the past five years.
