Azeri party leader’s son released on bail
BAKU – An Azerbaijani party leader’s son jailed earlier in Russia over money laundering and fraud was released on bail on Monday.
Chairman of opposition-leaning Justice Party, MP Ilyas Ismayilov, said that his son, businessman Etimad Ismayilov, was released under a ruling of a court in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk after an over 5 million Rubles (about $170,000) bail was filed, and is due to arrive in Azerbaijan shortly.
Etimad Ismayilov, arrested in March 2008, was convicted to eight years in prison in October 2010.
