Exiled ex-president attending his son’s funeral
(Newswires, August 9) – Azerbaijan’s ex-president Ayaz Mutallibov, who is living in Russia in exile for over 19 years, arrived in Baku Monday to attend the funeral of his son.
Azad Mutallibov, 49, died of the long-lasting disease, according to the media reports.
Azerbaijan’s ex-president, who co-chairs the Social Democratic Party, arrived in Teze Pir mosque for farewell ceremony today and was receiving condolences from public and other party officials.
The members of the family and relatives are attending the ceremony, which lasted till 14.30. Azad Mutallibov will be buried in Yasamal cemetery of Baku.
Co-chair of Azerbaijan Social Democratic Party Araz Alizadeh said ex-president’s immunity was ensured on the governmental level.
