Over 20 health officials sacked over shortfalls
BAKU – 21 officials of Azerbaijani health institutions have been dismissed due to major shortfalls in their work, according to the Health Ministry.
Those who lost their jobs include heads and department heads of hospitals, maternity homes and epidemiology centers. Also, 54 people were reprimanded.
Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev said during a meeting in late January that there were instances of health workers’ demanding unlawful payments from patients and prompting them to buy medicine which should be free of charge.
