Azeri FM, OSCE chief talk over phone ahead of key summit

BAKU – The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakh Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov have held talks over the phone ahead of the OSCE summit in Astana.
According to Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Ilyas Omarov, the ministers stressed the importance of passing decisions at the summit, which is due in the Kazakh capital December 1-2. The parties noted that these decisions should not only outline prospects for the OSCE’s development, but also contribute to bolstering security and cooperation in the organization’s member states.
Heads of state and government from the OSCE’s 56 member states and 12 allied countries as well as the heads of 68 international organizations will attend the Astana summit. Its agenda includes the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh.
