Azeris’ IDs to contain expiry term
Identification documents of Azerbaijani citizens
will from now onward indicate a validity term, the Milli Majlis
(parliament) decided on Tuesday.
According to the decision, holders of ID cards failing to have them replaced will be fined.
Under Azerbaijan’s laws, the Interior Ministry issues IDs to all citizens who have reached the age of 16. The identification document is to be further re-issued at age 25, 35 and 50. Also, IDs are to be replaced in case of changes such as names, place of residence, marital status, military rank, if the data on them is inaccurate or if the ID becomes unusable or has been lost.*
