Romania envoy details NATO strategy

The Strategic Research Center under the Azerbaijani President
hosted a meeting with Romanian Ambassador Nikolae Ureche on
Friday.
As the head of the embassy acting as NATO’s coordinator in Azerbaijan, Ureche briefed attendees about the alliance’s strategy of cooperation with its partner states.
The ambassador noted that NATO’s new strategic concept aims to ensure and bolster security in the 21st century world. He said the military and political bloc’s policy dwells upon the principles of collective security, unity, democracy, the rule of law and support for human rights. "The reality shows that no one is able to provide for security single-handedly."
Ureche said Azerbaijan is a key ally and an important country for NATO given its active involvement in anti-terror operations, geo-strategic location and vast potential for ensuring energy security.
The ambassador added that Romania could assist Azerbaijan in meeting its commitments to the alliance.*
