The large-scale military exercises with participation of various military branches of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces continue.
The national army conducted a live-fire stage in the course of the exercises on September 21.
At this stage, artillery, air defense assets, aviation, as well as other forces and formations of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces fulfilled combat-training tasks using new weapons and military equipment.
The troops practically improved their skills in organizing and practicing various methods of conducting a modern combined-arms operation throughout the exercises that were held in difficult conditions of mountain relief, electronic warfare environment, and also other characteristic features. Effective use of troops and control systems was also carried out at the exercises.
The troops also held live firing and fire maneuvers with the use of new weapon systems in various firing ranges and training areas equipped with modern equipment.
The exercises are held in accordance with the plan approved by the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
The drills, that will last until September 22, involve up to 15,000 military personnel, more than 150 tanks and armored vehicles, up to 120 missiles and artillery systems of different calibers, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, 20 combat aircrafts for various purposes, as well as new types of electronic warfare assets and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Azerbaijani Army, which today is considered the most modern army in the Caucasus, consists of Air Force and Air Defense Forces, the Navy, and the Land Forces. Today, Azerbaijani Army is one of the most powerful, highly disciplined armies in the world and the leading army in the region, which is equipped with modern military machinery.
The skills and combat readiness of the Azerbaijani army are growing year by year, as the country’s Armed Forces regularly conduct military exercises. The army building process in Azerbaijan is progressing as well.
