Strong winds intensify
By Laman Ismayilova
The wind continued to howl around Baku on Tuesday, with widespread reports of winds reaching 25-30 meters.
Maharram Hasanov, the head of climate and agro climate department at the National Institute of Geography said that strong winds will further intensify.
Hasanov, talking to APA, stated that the frequent strong winds are result of the climate change.
"After 90s, the strong winds intensified. Previously, the strong winds blew 2 times in 10 years, while now we can observe 4-5 strong winds in 10 years,” he said.
"Windy weather is not surprising for our country. In spring, atmospheric pressure constantly changes. Thus, strong winds blow for 3-5 days. After that wind speed gradually decreases", he added.
