Banker commits suicide
An Azerbaijani bank executive has died in what has
been called a suicide.
Namig Musayev, the director of the Rabitabank branch in the Shaki district, was found dead in his home. Forensic experts have made a preliminary conclusuion that he had killed himself.
Tural Karimov, the investigator at the district police department, has confirmed the suicide.
A letter has been reportedly found at the scene. The investigator has neither confirmed nor refuted the reports, adding that no further details were disclosed due to the ongoing probe.
Investigators presume that the suicide was caused by Musayev`s private life. "In my opinion, there is no link between the suicide and his job at the bank," Karimov said.
Elchin Gadimov, deputy chairman of the Rabitabank open joint-stock company, has told Radio Liberty that the management had not revealed any shortfalls in the bank`s Shaki subsidiary and was content with its activity. "We have not seen any serious drawbacks in the subsidiary`s operation. The local managers have been working normally," he said.
