Slain general`s brother dismissed from military post
Rafael Rzayev, the brother of Lt.-Gen. Rail Rzayev,
the commander of Azerbaijan`s air force who was shot dead on
February 11, has been dismissed from his military post.
Lt.-Col. Rzayev had served as military commissar, or head of the drafting unit in the Shamakhy district. The reasons for his dismissal are unknown. Rzayev`s successor has not yet been appointed, according to the district`s commissariat.
The 64-year-old general was shot dead by an unknown gunman while in his service car outside his home in the Yasamal district of Baku.
