Army Games 2017 due in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is among the host countries of the International Army Games 2017 along with China, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced about this in Moscow on November 24, RIA Novosti reported.

“Some of the competitions within the International Army Games 2017 are planned to be held in China, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan,” he said.

Noting that the International Army Games have become the modern form of military training, the minister said that preparations for the 3rd Games are currently underway.

“More than 100 teams from 19 countries participated in the Games this year. For the second year, the Russian soldiers won the Games," he said.

This year, Azerbaijan successfully performed in the Games held in Russia.

Participating in the contests "Tank biathlon" and "Caspian Sea Cup" of the international military competition, representatives of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces become the winners of the various stages in both categories and represented the country at the highest level.

The Azerbaijani tank crew, which participated in this competition for the first time, performed a variety of tasks at a high level, skillfully destroyed all the targets and overcame obstacles.

The Azerbaijani military seamen ranked second and awarded with special medals at the Caspian Cup 2016.

Moreover, the Azerbaijani officer of patrol and guard ship G-124, Israil Mammadov won an individual award for his skills and professionalism.
