Leyla Aliyeva opens IDEA Animal Care Center [PHOTO]

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Founder and Head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening of IDEA Animal Care Center on November 10.
Leyla Aliyeva viewed photo stands reflecting various stages of construction of the Center, and then cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of IDEA Animal Care Center, Azertac reported.
The foundation stone for the Center was laid in October, 2014. There are 24 shelters capable of handling up to more than 1,000 animals. The experience of leading countries was used and prominent foreign experts were involved in the planning and construction of the Center.
Leyla Aliyeva also viewed treatment and rehabilitation complexes for sick animals.
Vaccination, sterilization and surgical operation of homeless
animals as well as their rehoming will be carried out at the
Center. Mobile emergency medical services for animals as well as
their humane transportation to the center will also be ensured.
Moreover, here, for the first time in the country, a system of
electronic database of homeless pets is created. It will track the
animals and vaccinate them in a timely manner.
Animals, in need of long-term treatment, will undergo the process of rehabilitation in special quarantine enclosures.
The Center will also allow to train veterinary experts and exchange of experiences.
Then Leyla Aliyeva familiarized herself with a pet food factory. The factory is the first enterprise in Azerbaijan that will produce pet food.
IDEA Animal Care Center will always be open for volunteers and animal-lovers that are willing to help the animals in need.
With the aim of protecting and increasing the number of wild nature, IDEA Public Association founded in 2011 makes every effort to protect the nature for future generations.
IDEA is all about working with young people to put environmental awareness and action at the heart of family, community and national life.
