Russia's Putin: Azerbaijan-Russia partnership based on friendly ties

On the basis of a multi-faceted strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan, there are friendly and good neighborly relations, binding the peoples over centuries, said the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin, addressed to the participants of the 7th Azerbaijani-Russian Interregional Forum, which is being held on November 1 in Baku.

Chief of the Russian Presidential Directorate for Interregional Relations and Cultural Contacts with Foreign Countries Vladimir Chernov read out President Vladimir Putin’s letter.

It is gratifying that the forum develops the traditions of trust and mutual understanding, based on common pages of the two countries’ history, helps to enhance the integration processes and mutually beneficial cooperation, said the message.

He also expressed confidence that the current meeting will take place in the format of a constructive dialogue of representatives of authorities and business community, expert and public organizations of the two countries.

The forum’s agenda will reflect the important issues, such as the expansion of economic and financial cooperation, the deepening of cooperative relations in the scientific, educational and cultural spheres, said Putin in his message.

“I wish you fruitful work and successful implementation of the plans for the benefit of our countries and peoples,” added the Russian president.

The 7th Azerbaijani-Russian Interregional Forum was opened Nov. 1 at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku. Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry and Russia’s Economic Development Ministry are the organizers of the event.

Issues on deepening bilateral interregional cooperation in the fields of industry, transport, energy, tourism and humanitarian sphere will be discussed during the forum.

A plenary meeting, round tables and an Azerbaijan-Russia business forum will be held as part of the event.

Several documents will be signed during the forum.
