Two more issues are expected to be included into the agenda of the next plenary meeting of the autumn session of Azerbaijan’s Parliament.
Changes to the Laws “On freedom of religion” and “On mass media” will be in focus of the October 14 meeting alongside the proposed amendments to other 21 Laws concerning different spheres.
The draft amendments were discussed at Wednesday’s meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights.
Under the amendments proposed to the Law “On freedom of religion”, the extremist religious activity will be taken as a basis for elimination of a religious structure in Azerbaijan.
The participants agreed that activities of religious organizations engaged in extremist religious activity will be banned in accordance with the envisaged amendments to the Law.
Under the draft amendments to the law “On mass media”, media
activities in the area of special operations against religious
extremism, will be governed by a body conducting the operation.
The information about the operation will be provided by the
authority conducting an operation in a particular form and
volume.
