Armenia breaks ceasefire 20 times a day
By Rashid Shirinov
Despite the multiple demands of international community and four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal from the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, Armenian armed forces are still keeping under occupation 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands and putting the future of the entire region under a threat. Violations of ceasefire from Armenian side are being recorded every day.
What is much more disturbing the ceasefire violations frequently end in human deaths and injuries thus keeping tension high on the frontline.
Over the past 24 hours, Armenian armed forces using heavy machine guns have 20 times violated the ceasefire regime on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry’s press service notified on August .
Armenian armed forces at the nameless heights of Ijevan district and in the Dovekh village of the Noyemberyan district shelled positions of Azerbaijani armed forces in the village Kemerli and on nameless heights of Gazakh district. Moreover, Azerbaijani positions on nameless heights of Gadabay district were fired from the positions located on nameless heights of Krasnoselsk district of Armenia.
Additionally, Azerbaijani positions became fired from the positions located near the Kuropatkino village of the Khojavand district, Ashagi Seyidahmadli village and some nameless heights of the Fizuli district.
More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and over 1 million were displaced as a result of the large-scale hostilities.
While the OSCE Minsk Group acted as the only mediator in resolution of the conflict, the occupation of the territory of the sovereign State with its internationally recognized boundaries has been left out of due attention of the international community for years.
