Azerbaijan state pantomime theatre joins International Mime Festival 2016

Azerbaijan state pantomime theatre will participate at International Mime Festival 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgia on May 20-24, Trend life reports.
Creative team of national theatre will present the production " The final touch" by people's artist Bakhtiyar Khanyzade and Bahruz Ahmadli.
The cast includes Azerbaijani actors Elman Rafiyev, Bahruz Ahmadli, Jeyhun Dadashov, Elnur Ismayilov, Nurlan Rustamov and Rafz Mekhtizadeh.
The event will also be attended by mime artists from Poland, Japan, Israel and Georgia.
The festival will open with the play "Shakespeare's Sonnets" by Georgian director David Shalikashvili.
Georgian pantomime theatre will show the productions such as the "Stop AIDS" about the harmful effects of drugs, "Cradle", "Luarsab" and "Crazy Olympians", staged by President of World Mime Organization Marko Stojanovic.
Moreover, the event program includes a master class of Israeli pantomime artist as well as the meeting with the founder of the festival – a 77-year old Amiran Shalikashvili.
Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theatre was founded in 1994 by Bakhtiyar Khanizadeh, an actor of the Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators. The theatre has twice housed the Himjim International Pantomime festivals. As of 2009, it has toured 12 countries with a repertoire including 24 plays by both local and foreign playwrights.
