national clothes could visit the exhibition till September 20.
Kamala Jansson (Kamala Kerimova) graduated from Olsta School of the
Arts as designer. In 2011 she created the private museum
"Azerbaijani national clothes and embroidery" in Sweden. Kamala has
exhibited her works not only in Azerbaijan, but also in other
countries.
Azerbaijani national women's dresses have elegant silhouette and cut, emphasizing flexible mills of Azerbaijani beauties. They are decorated with intricate embroidery and with beautiful golden tape.
Men's clothing is also very distinctive. It emphasizes their
masculinity without restricting their rapid movements.
Remarkable element of Azerbaijanis costume is its underwear. It
(both female and male) sewn from linen and cotton. The rich
families' beautifull underwear were sewn from silk.
During archeological excavations some needle and spoke, made of bronze, from the early Bronze Age were found in Azerbaijan. These findings prove that the ancient population of Azerbaijan could sew clothes.
