By Seymur Aliyev

Xalq Bank presented a new book about the abundant heritage of renowned Azerbaijani artist Sattar Bahlulzade at an exhibition which opened in the capital Baku last week.

This was the sixth edition of the Azerbaijani bank released in the framework of "Xalq amanati" (National property) project. The book features all stages of the great painter's creative work. The publication includes most of his creations, as well as unreleased content from his diaries. The book, which is remarkable for its excellence, can be a pearl of any library in the world.

The key objective of the project is to preserve Azerbaijani national heritage for future generations and present it to the global cultural community. The book, published in three languages -- Azerbaijani, Russian and English -- is being presented to higher and secondary educational institutions, orphanages and libraries, foundations, government agencies, foreign representative offices in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani embassies and consulates abroad, and distributed among connoisseurs of culture for free.

The exhibition attracted public attention with its elegance. Invaluable canvases of the great artist with gentle accompaniment of melodic piano tunes seemed alive, trying to break away from the conventional frames and filling the room with a magical aura. Brooding eyes of the artist looking with an in-depth look from the picture placed in the middle of the exhibition hall were full of hope and inspiration.

A lot of famous artists, Bahlulzade's friends and relatives attended the presentation of the new book.

The project, which has been implemented by Xalq Bank since 2010, has already gained recognition from the connoisseurs of Azerbaijani culture. The bank has been promoting great Azerbaijani talents by publishing wonderful editions in the framework of the project.

The exhibition, underway at the head office of Xalq Bank, will be open to visitors until December 18.
