Day of Azerbaijani Culture to be held in Moscow

Day of Azerbaijani Culture will be celebrated in Moscow on June 24.

The event will be held by the Azerbaijani Youth Association of Russia and will mark the 10th anniversary of the organization.

Delicious Azerbaijani dishes, rich concert program with the participation of Azerbaijani stars and dance groups and much more await the guests of the festivity.

The participants will have a chance to enjoy national music, dance classes as well as to test themselves as chefs.

The guests of the event will also be able to take photos in a special Azerbaijan-themed photo zone. The "instant photo" service will allow guests to receive their photos immediately after the photo shoot.

The reading corner will offer issues of “AMOR” magazine for 10 years to familiarize the visitors with the activities of the Azerbaijani Youth Association of Russia. Books of Azerbaijani classics will also be presented.

At the end of the celebration, an open-air film will be screened.

Azerbaijani Youth Association of Russia was established on April 18, 2009. Since its inception, the organization chaired by Leyla Aliyeva has aimed to bring together the most active part of the Azerbaijani community in Russia into one large family to inculcate in young people the spirit of patriotism and encourage the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.

The organization's scope of activity covers culture, education, science and history of Azerbaijan, its realities and perspectives, outreach activities, sporting programs, etc.

Azerbaijan and Russia are tied by firmly based relations, which were officially established in 1992. The cultural relations between the two countries are highly evaluated.

The year 2005 was the "Year of Azerbaijan" in Russia and 2006 was the "Year of Russia" in Azerbaijan. Two countries held 110 special cultural events during these two years.

Azerbaijan and Russia signed a program for cooperation in the field of culture for 2017-2019 as part of the 5th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum in Russia.

The document was inked by Azerbaijan's First Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Vagif Aliyev and Deputy Culture Minister of Russia Alla Manilova.

The agreement covers folk art, library and museum development, bilateral cooperation in cinema, exchange of experiences between musicians, educational institutions and much more.
