International Day for Protection of Children is celebrated in many countries around the world to honor children and raise awareness of children's rights.

The Day was established by the Women's International Democratic Federation during its 1949 congress in Moscow. The first celebration took place on June 1, 1950.

The holiday is traditionally marked with various activities such as contests, performances and exhibitions by students from art and musical schools.

Azerbaijan will also celebrate the International Children's Day.

Kids Festival will be held in Heydar Aliyev Center on June 1-2. The festival will last two days from 16:00 to 19:00.

Students of orphanages and boarding schools in Baku and Azerbaijani regions will also join the colorful feast.

Various entertaining programs will be presented within the framework of the event. Children will be able to ride on the attractions set in the Heydar Aliyev Center, have fun on the ice rink, take part in music programs and other entertainments, and compete in contests.

For children, master classes will be organized in different areas, and small talents will be able to demonstrate their skills by drawing on asphalt.

For the first time in the Center there will be a competition of boats.

Children will meet with their favorite fairy-tale characters and spend a fun holiday, with interesting surprises and gifts.

Moreover, little guests will enjoy a fascinating concert at Heydar Aliyev Center.

Admission and entertainment are for free.

Azerbaijan pays great attention to children's rights. There are about 20 laws governing the rights of children, a total of 40 clauses of the laws that regulate recreation, treatment, education of children in Azerbaijan.
