The well-known British director, producer and screenwriter, Oscar nominee Peter Webber, has invited Azerbaijani actress Konul Nagieva to play the main role in his new film.
The British director met with Konul Nagieva and Turkish actor Kaan Urgancıoglu in Istanbul, Trend Life reported.
The title of the film, in the genre of psychological drama, has not yet been disclosed. The shooting will begin in the near future.
Peter Webber is best known for his debut feature film Girl with a Pearl Earring and Hannibal Rising.
The movie received numerous prizes, including three Academy Award nominations, two Golden Globe nominations, and 10 BAFTA Award nominations
In 2012, British director filmed the World War II drama Emperor, starring Tommy Lee Jones.
He also directed several popular science documentaries about a range of subjects including crash test dummies, deep sea life and phantom limbs.
Konul Nagieva has been living and working in Turkey in recent years. She was filmed in such Turkish films and TV series as "Kızkaçıran", "Terkedilmiş", "Zaman Adlı Tren", "Bumerang", "Kanun Namına", "Hayat Körpüsü", etc. She is the winner of the Azerbaijani version of the TV show "Dancing with the Stars" and "Fort Boyard".
Kaan Urgancıoglu is best known for playing Emir Kozcuoğlu in "Kara Sevda" TV series (english "Black Love" or "Endless Love") or also known as "In Between" for international broadcasting.
