Azerbaijani musicians to join “Kavkaz Jazz” fest

The Caucasian jazz festival will be held in Georgia on June 17-19.

“Kavkaz Jazz” is a non-commercial youth jazz festival, in which young musicians from different countries take part. First “Kavkaz Jazz” festival was held in 2010. Along with classic jazz, most of musicians actively use traditional instruments in their performances.

Together with Georgian jazz musicians the festival will be attended by artists from Azerbaijan, Turkey and other countries, Report.az reported.

A series of master classes for young jazz artists will be held on June 14.

The classes will be conducted by well-known musicians and teachers, including Azerbaijani pianist, composer, arranger Salman Gambarov. Master classes will traditionally take place at the Tbilisi State Conservatory.

The concert with the participation of Caucasian jazz groups will take place at Movement Theatre on June 17.

Final jazz session under the slogan Jazz Up The Borders will be held on June. Special guests of the festival, as well as participants of master classes will perform on one stage.

J.E.F Experiment Jazz Trio successfully represented Azerbaijan at “Kavkaz Jazz 2016” festival in Tbilisi.

The interesting and unusual improvisations of Azerbaijani band captured the hearts of many guests. The concert was broadcasted via the First Georgian channel. The event ended with the performance of a march "Azerbaijani soldier", that was warmly received by the audience and followed by standing ovation.
