Two ADB-funded projects to be launched soon
Operations under the Asian Development Bank-funded
projects on improving Azerbaijan`s electric power supply system and
building a circular road in Ganja, the country`s second largest
city, may be launched in late January. The funds required for both
projects have already been allocated, according to the ADB`s Baku
office.
The $160 million loan, allotted for the power supply project, will be spent to upgrade the electricity distribution lines and sub-stations of the capital. As a result of the activities, two power lines which have been operated for more than 60 years will be replaced with new ones.
The allocation under the road upgrade project amounts to $55.4 million.
Additionally, the bank intends to allot funds this year for the improvement of the country`s water supply and sewer systems as well as further transport projects.
