Air Cairo, the largest company in Egypt owned by EgyptAir, requested Azerbaijan to continue flights en route Baku - Sharm el-Sheikh from December 25. The information was approved by the Azerbaijani State Civil Aviation Administration.

Air Cairo has permission for flights during the period from October 25, 2015 until March 25, 2016. However, flights were postponed due to the situation in Egypt.

"Because of the collapse of the Russian aircraft over Sinai, and uncertainty in the market there is no accurate information about the time when the flights on the route Baku-Sharm el-Sheikh start,” the Administration said.

The Russian airliner, carrying 217 passengers and seven crew members crashed in the Sinai Peninsula en route from the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg on October 31. All people on board, including 25 children, were confirmed dead by Russian and Egyptian authorities. Russian state media reported that many of the 217 passengers on Kogalymavia Flight 9268 were Russians returning from vacation.

The situation in Egypt is still unstable and dangerous. Frequent explosions and terrorist attacks make the country an unsafe zone.

Air Cargo was founded in 2003. The company successfully passed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) for the third time in sequence and has joined IATA by the end of August 2015.
