Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover hit $31.02 billion in 2014.

The country’s foreign trade operations decreased by 10.58 percent in 2014 compared to the same period of last year, State Customs Committee said on January 16.

The committee noted that the number of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade partners over the mentioned period reached 150.

A black ink worth over $12.6 billion was also formed in foreign trade operations.

Foreign trade surplus amounted to $12.26 billion in 2013.

In the reported period, 6,372 legal and physical entities were involved in foreign economic activities, some 3,727 being legal entities and 2,645 physical entities.

Exports reached $21.8 billion in January-December, which is 8.95 percent less compared to the same period of 2013. Last year imports exceeded $9.2 billion, which is 14.22 percent less compared to 2013.

The public sector share in export operations was estimated at $20.48 billion, the private sector’s share - $1.121 billion and physical entities' share- $226.2 million. The public sector share in import operations was estimated at nearly $2.34 billion, private sector’s share- $6.48 billion and physical entities share - $364.2 million.

About 2,151 kinds of goods were exported from Azerbaijan and 6,146 imported to Azerbaijan in January-December.

Taxes Ministry increases inflow to state budget

Azerbaijan’s Taxes Ministry provided the inflow of over 7.113 billion manats of tax payments to the state budget in 2014, which is 6.8 percent more compared to 2013, the ministry said.

The share of inflow on profit tax amounted to 32.4 percent of total tax revenues, on value added tax - 28.8 percent, income tax - 13.8 percent, excise tax - 10.4 percent, and other taxes - 15 percent.

Tax deductions from the non-oil sector in the state budget amounted to over 4.306 billion manats. Income from the non-oil sector increased by 14.5 percent compared to the same period of a year before.

Some 82,688 tax payers passed state registration in January-December 2014. The total number of tax payers amounted to 609,742 as of January 1, 2015.

Official exchange rate was 0.7844 AZN/USD on January 16.
