Azerbaijan ups cattle imports from Georgia
Roughly 12,100 tons of cattle in live weight worth $30.94 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-August 2013, the National Statistical Service of Georgia (Gruzstat) reported.
The share of this category of goods in a total volume of the Georgian exports to Azerbaijan amounted to 6.61 per cent in the reporting period.
the export of cattle from Georgia increased by 25.18 per cent, in quantitative terms by 68.16 percent, or 4,900 tons compared to the same period of 2012. For comparison, in January-August 2012, 7,190 tons of cattle in live weight in the amount of $24.72 million was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan.
Goods worth $468.04 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-August 2013, or 26.6 per cent of the total volume of the country's exports during the period.
Exports to Azerbaijan increased by 16.97 per cent compared to the same period of 2012, while Georgian goods worth $400.13 million were exported to Azerbaijan.
