Car prices up in Azerbaijan

BAKU – Prices of cars in Azerbaijan have increased by up to 5 percent this month, according to importers.
Some market researchers have explained the increase with "seasonal" factors.
"The prices have risen by about $1,000," car dealer Alamshah Amiraslanov says. "The demand has increased as well, as more people are looking to buy cars."
Experts say that new car models are beginning to dominate the domestic market, with about half of the cars made in the past three to four years. The average price of a vehicle in the market is said to be $15,000, 15 percent down from 2010.
Car prices decrease every summer but begin to rise as the fall approaches, analysts said.
"People returning from a vacation and others often want to buy cars, which drives up the demand," expert Ramin Osmanly said. "The demand usually increases in the months of fall, which affects the prices."
Up to 14,000 vehicles have been delivered to Azerbaijan this year, according to the State Statistics Committee.
