Impact of economic crisis temporary, Aliyev says
The impact of the global economic crisis on Azerbaijan is temporary, President Ilham Aliyev said while addressing residents on a visit to the city of Ganja Monday, state television channel AzTV reported.
"The economic crisis, which has spread to the entire world, is affecting Azerbaijan as well. But we are trying to minimize this impact. On the other hand, the capabilities at hand and the economic potential of Azerbaijan are grounds to say that this is temporary," said the president.
"We are concerned by the temporary shutdown of large enterprises. I believe that soon these companies will resume their activities. People who work there are taken care of by the state, their wages are being paid and will be paid," Aliyev pledged.
