Walsh added that Azerbaijan has modern and comfortable sports infrastructure. He said the country created excellent conditions for the athletes, including modern sports arenas.
Walsh stressed the importance of holding the European Games in the future.
"These are the biggest competitions in Europe,” he said. “They are of great importance for the development of sport. I believe that the European Games must be carried out in the future."
He said that he has visited Azerbaijan for the second time and liked this country.
"I was in Azerbaijan in 2004,” he said. “During this time, much has been changed. Baku is a beautiful city."
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
