Belarusian athletes preparing for Baku 2015
Belarus’ CTV channel has made a report devoted to the
preparation of Belarusian athletes for the First European Games to
be held in Baku on June 12-28.
“Baku is ready to take the first-ever European Games. Now they will
be held every four years,” the article on the channel’s official
website said.
Baku will bring together more than 6,000 athletes as well as a lot
of fans.
Yekaterina Galkina, multiple winner of World and European
Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, is quite an experienced
athlete, but is still full of excitement.
“I was very exciting and very interesting. Because I've not yet
been at the Olympic Games. I've not taken part in the Universiade
either. I wonder how it will be: the Olympic Village, athletes,
teams ...,” she said.
Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and
innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take
place on June 12-28, 2015.
There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports
and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across
Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of
competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC)
in December 2012.
