Valiant cyclist Ramil Ziyadov was the first Azerbaijani to reach South America by bike.
The cyclist traveled to Colombia in August, and is now in Cayambe Coca Ecological Reserve in Ecuador, where the country's third volcano Cayambe (5,790 m) is located, Trend Life reported.
Notwithstanding the risk, with only cold-weather clothing, sleeping bag and tent, Ramil wants to show the world how strong and able Azerbaijanis are.
In 2014, Ramil Ziyadov started a two-year trip, in which he planed to cover 45,000 kilometers across passing through Georgia, Russia,Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Egypt and other countries.
However, this is not enough for Ramil, a farmer from Barda, who is not a professional rider, but fall in love with the extreme sport and by his own means travels around the world to glorify his motherland Azerbaijan.
The cyclist also traveled in through Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China in 2013.
The bike ride was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev under the motto "In the name of Azerbaijan".
Traveling 15,000 kilometers, he became the first Azerbaijani cyclist of such a long distance.
During his trip, Ramil also informs people around the world about Azerbaijan, its achievements and developments, and its acute problem: the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict emerged after Armenia’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan
