Azerbaijani artist to hold personal exhibition in Baku
By Nazrin Gadimova
An exhibition by Azerbaijani artist Butunay Hagverdiyev will open in QGallery in Baku on April 17.
The news was announced by the artist's press-service.
Titled "Crossing", the exhibition will be held in April 17-30.
The young and promising artist is a member of Azerbaijan's Union of Artists. His career began at the age of 14, when he painted the Orthodox Church of St. Bartholomew together with a group of artists.
After entering British Higher School of Design in Moscow, his exhibitions and curatorial projects were held in Baku.
Hagverdiyev participated in the 55th Venice Biennale as part of Azerbaijan's national pavilion artists in 2013.
His works are parts of private collections in Azerbaijan, Australia, Lithuania, UK, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, and the United States.
Adhering to conservative views on art and nourishing a great passion for the Renaissance and antiquity, Butunay addresses the world heritage of fine arts in his works, and opens it to new interpretations.
He pays a great deal of attention to architecture, construction machinery, trains and subway stations, mechanisms, and people.
