No any mass grave of Armenians proving the so-called "genocide" can be found in Azerbaijan and Turkey's territory, an Azerbaijani official said.

Senior Deputy Head of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Valeh Hajiyev said Turks have never carried out a genocide act against Armenians.

"None of the periods of history witnessed an act of genocide against Armenians committed by the Turks," he noted addressing the opening ceremony of a monument dedicated to Khojaly genocide in the Turkish city of Izmit.

Izmit municipality erected a monument in memory of the Khojaly genocide in one of the city's parks under the Turkish-Azerbaijani Society's initiative.

Appreciating highly the monument's opening, Hajiyev said it was of special importance ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli Battle.

"Such a monument erected to the memories of Khojaly genocide victims is the best answer to Armenia's lies," he stated.

The Khojaly genocide, one of the most heinous crimes of the 20th century, was committed by the Armenian armed forces in 1992. 613 civilians mostly women and children were killed in the massacre, and a total of 1,000 people were disabled. Eight families were exterminated, 25 children lost both parents, and 130 children lost one parent. Moreover, 1,275 innocent people were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 of them remains unknown.
