Iran has successfully test fired a new domestically-designed and indigenous ballistic missile and a laser-guided missile, Iranian defense minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said on February 10.

The new generations of the long-range ground-to-ground ballistic missile with a fragmentation warhead and the laser-guided air-to-surface and surface-to-surface missile, dubbed Bina (Sighted), have been successfully test fired on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Press TV reported.

He said the new missiles can "evade the enemy missile defense systems" and can "destroy multiple targets."

Dehqan also noted that the Bina laser-guided missile can be fired from the ground or from the air.

He further said that the missile is capable of striking important targets such as bridges, tanks and the enemy command centers with great precision.

Dehqan added that such valuable achievements despite sanctions and the enemy's pressure once again proves that the Islamic Revolution will dynamically continue its path.

Menwhile, Iran's commander of Air Forces, Amir Shah Safi said Iran's Air Forces now function with a new approach.

He went on to note that future wars will take place in air, as a lot of the attacks might be coming from air, with the use of aircrafts and missiles. Therefore, Iran's Air Force is directing all its interior resources towards manufacturing new jet fighters and aircrafts.

Iran's Air Forces are engaged in manufacturing flight simulators, fighter jets, ground and air missiles, radars and navigation systems, all of which are the country's achievements, Safi further said.

Over the past years, Iran has made important breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems.

Iran has repeatedly assured other nations, especially its neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
