Inquiry into Georgian PM's death reopened

Prosecutors in Georgia have reopened the investigation into the death in 2005 of Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania, his brother told reporters on Tuesday, RIA Novosti reported.

"The only thing I can say is that many more officials will be questioned," Georgi Zhvania added.

Zurab Zhvania died in February 2005 from what investigators called accidental carbon monoxide poisoning from a broken gas heater.

However, Zhvania's brother has repeatedly criticized the official account, and claimed his brother was the victim of a politically motivated assassination. But this version was never given any credence by official investigators.

Georgi Zhvania is a currently member of Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili's Georgian Dream coalition, that defeated ruling Saakashvili's United National Movement party in parliamentary elections on October 1.
