Baku opens door for career, education exhibitions

The eighth Azerbaijan International Education and Career exhibitions were held in Baku from October 10 to 12.

Baku Expro Center was the venue for the exhibitions jointly organized by Iteca Caspian and CEO ("Caspian Event Organizers").

The events are among rare events in Azerbaijan that have been organized with official support from the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic.

The Education Exhibition was opened only for interested professionals, pupils of 10-11 forms, enrollees and their parents, while Career Exhibition opened its doors for public.

The International Career Exhibition was held for the first time as an independent exhibition in Azerbaijan, where the visitors could take benefit from banking, oil-gas, telecommunications, finance, marketing and sales, energy vacancies of such companies as Azercell, Azersun Holding, Bakcell, American Tobacco, BP (British Petrol), Halliburto, JTI, Technip Abu Dhabi, and Unibank .

More than 100 participants from 20 countries took part at the exhibitions, where they presented Bachelor's and MBA programs, Business programs as well as systems of education in abroad.

The guests had a chance to get acquainted with the national stands from Lithuania represented by the 15 prestigious high schools. Slovakia for the first time attended the exhibition by Study in Slovakia organization, where it put on display 44 private and public institutions of higher education.

Alongside with it, such influential educational institutions as the Economy University in Krakow, which is one of the best universities of Poland, University of Aviation in UAE, Moscow State Economics Statistics and Informatics University, as well as Budapest International Business School, British Higher School of Design (in Moscow) and many other prestigious universities of the world were featured at the event.

Useful and relevant information on undergraduate, post-graduate and higher education programmes; MBA courses; business foreign language courses; internships; trainings; distance education programmes; student exchange programmes; elective education courses and summer schools; and new IT systems for education were available at the exhibition.

Foreign participants had prepared special offers for members of Azerbaijani universities for student exchange programmes, delegation visits and collaborative research. Visitors can meet with representatives from leading universities and ask questions about the different aspects of youth education at the exhibition.

Addressing the guests, Deputy Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov noted about the ongoing cooperation among state, private sectors and educational institutions in the development of human capital.

He said that holding the educational and career exhibitions for business and youth is a great launch pad for discussions about new projects.

Emphasizing the role and importance of the current exhibitions, Bayramov expressed his confidence that the exhibitions will continue to display the capacity of the education system in the country, as well as generate interest and willingness among national institutions to cooperate with international educational institutions.

"We think that the right choice of profession will play a great impetus for the future career and successes of young people. And we hope that such kind of exhibition will serve as a guide for our students," the deputy stressed.

Bayramov also underlined the importance of the "Professionals of modern Azerbaijan" project, directed to develop the quality of education and standards, implemented with the participation of real sector and business.

Domestic institutions also took part at the exhibition: Azerbaijan University of Languages, CELT Colleges, Baku Higher Petroleum School and other Azerbaijani universities.

Besides educational institutions, the companies providing a wide range of laboratory equipments, interactive boards, computers for secondary and higher education institutions also participated at the exhibition.
