Azerbaijan’s ombudsman submits 2024 human rights report

In accordance with Article 14 of the Constitutional Law of Azerbaijan “On the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, the Ombudsman’s annual report on human rights protection in 2024 has been prepared, Azernews reports.
The report was submitted to President Ilham Aliyev on February 24 and sent to relevant state bodies, including the Cabinet of Ministers, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, and the Prosecutor General's Office.
As per legal procedure, the Ombudsman will also present the report before the Milli Majlis. It details efforts in restoring violated rights, preventing human rights violations, legal education and analytical work, public engagement, cooperation with civil society and international organizations, and recommendations for strengthening human and civil rights protection.
Once discussed in the Milli Majlis, the report will be published for public access.
