Azerbaijan will use innovative technologies for the extraction of precious metals.

A business project will be submitted for testing to AzerGold Company, the Azerbaijan Scientific Innovation Center reported.

The project was prepared based on scientific and technological research of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the National Academy of Sciences.

The new method involves the extraction of precious metals with the use of new technologics. This, in particular, is a scientifically developed mobile installation, that provides safe solutions for the extraction of metals from ores.

The technology has been tested on some of the gold deposits of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus.

Azerbaijan is not only a country rich in oil and gas, it is also known for its precious metals resources. Today, gold is one of the stable spots in the commodities market.

Gold reserves have doubled in Azerbaijan due to deposits found in recent years. In the past ten years, 192 deposits of various profiles were discovered in 25 regions in the country.

The increase is also observed in the production of the precious metal. The whole year production of Anglo Asian Mining, a company extracting precious metals in Azerbaijan, was 60,285 ounces of gold, which is 16 percent more than in 2013, when 52,107 ounces were produced.

AzerGold company, established this February, will study, explore, develop and manage non-ferrous metals deposits. The company is expected to introduce new technologies in the field, modernizing material-technical base and its efficient use, as well as realizing other works for the development of this sphere.

The establishment of AzerGold is expected to further intensify the state’s efforts in increasing the industrial development of the republic and its export capacity.
