Azerbaijani athlete breaks record in Belarus

Azerbaijani athlete Fatima Alkarimova won first place at the "Cup
of Hope-2013" the traditional international junior swimming
tournament held in Rechitsa, Belarussia, the Azerbaijani Federation
on Water Sports reported on November 12.
According to the federation, 11-year-old Alkerimova showed the best results in all disciplines. The Azerbaijani athlete set a new record in the 50 meter freestyle competition.
About 600 swimmers from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Lithuania took part in the tournament.
The federation also noted that great work is being done in the
preparation of athletes who will represent Azerbaijan at major
tournaments, including the first European Games to be held in Baku
in 2015.
The competitions were held among juniors between the birth years of
1999-2002.
The program of the event included swimming styles such as brass, butterfly, backstroke, as well as integrated swimming. Athletes fought decisively, showing remarkable strength of will and determination but the strongest won.
