Improved destroyer to join Iranian Navy shortly
Commander of Iran's Navy Rear, Admiral Habibollah Sayyari
announced Thursday that destroyer Bayandor would join the Iranian
naval fleet on May 24, IRNA news agency reported.
The warship would join the Iranian fleet after undergoing major
repairs and when equipped with the latest weapons by Iranian
experts.
Speaking to reporters, the rear admiral said Bayandor was improved
by latest equipment including missiles, torpedoes, artillery and
sonar system as well as other intelligence and communicative
devices.
"Now the destroyer is ready to be used for open seas missions,"

Criticizing presence of foreign powers in regional waters, Sayyari
said lasting peace and security would return to the region as soon
as foreign troops leave the region.
