Azerbaijan, PACE discuss prospects of cooperation

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Anne Brasseur in Baku on September 23.
The sides discussed current state and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and PACE.
On the same day, Parliamentary Speaker Ogtay Asadov met with the PACE president.
Asadov said one of the directions of Azerbaijan's policy has always been the fulfillment of obligations to the PACE.
He noted that he holds the fourth meeting with Brasseur over the past 4 months, stressing that these meetings are very important as they contribute to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe.
Brasseur, for her part, said the principles of the organization are the main link between the member states of the Council of Europe and all states must comply with these principles.
Earlier, Brasseur met with Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov and Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov. The sides discussed the close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe in all directions.
The PACE president praised the fight against corruption in Azerbaijan.
