Azerbaijan, Luxembourg keen on deepening ties
Azerbaijan and Luxembourg mulled ties as Azerbaijan `s Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Fuad Isgandarov has met President of Luxembourg`s Chamber of Deputies Mars Di Bartolomeo, AzerTag state news agency reported.
Isgandarov handed over a congratulatory letter of Azerbaijani Parliament`s Speaker Ogtay Asadov to Mars Di Bartolomeo on his election as President of Luxembourg`s Chamber of Deputies.
The ambassador stressed the role of the interparliamentary relations in development of the bilateral cooperation.
He also invited Di Bartolomeo to visit Azerbaijan. The ambassador briefed Di Bartolomeo on the country`s achievements gained over the last years, adding Azerbaijan played the role of a bridge between Europe and Asia.
The diplomat said Azerbaijan was interested in developing comprehensive cooperation with Luxembourg.
"Reciprocal visits will give a push to development of the interparliamentary ties," Isgandarov said.
Mars Di Bartolomeo, in turn, said Luxembourg was interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan in a variety of fields.
The ambassador also highlighted Azerbaijan`s relations with neighbours, as well as regional energy and infrastructure projects, the threats and challenges in the region caused by the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
