President Aliyev opens building in Sumgayit for Karabakh disabled, war victim families
Apartment buildings for Karabakh war invalids and shaheed
families opened on Monday in Azerbaijan`s Sumgayit city, Zabrat and
Hovsan districts of Baku, as well as in Ganja, Shaki and Shamkir,
AzerTac state news agency reported.
President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended the
opening of the building in Sumgayit.
The Head of State and his spouse viewed the apartments.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Fuzuli
Alakbarov told the President the 12-storey building had 96
apartments.
The Head of State met residents of the new building.
The minister told President Aliyev that residents of the buildings
in Zabrat and Hovsan, Ganja, Shaki and Shamkir have the opportunity
to address the ceremony in Sumgayit through a video
conferencing.
The Head of State made a speech at the event.
The President handed over apartment licenses and keys to
Nakhchivan-made Naz Lifan cars to the disabled and members of
shaheed families.
Azer Guliyev, a Karabakh war invalid, thanked the Head of State for
his care and attention.
Another Karabakh war disabled, Sarvar Mammadov, who spoke through
video conferencing from Shaki, expressed his gratitude to President
Ilham Aliyev for valuing the work of Azerbaijani military men.
A shaheed`s mother Minaya Piriyeva, who joined from Ganja, praised
the President`s role in promoting patriotism among the Azerbaijani
military and youth.
Other speakers congratulated the Head of State on his birthday, and
also wished president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban
Aliyeva all the best.
