Dublin hosts GUAM ministerial

A meeting of the GUAM Ministerial Council was held in Dublin on December 7, Trend news agency reported.

GUAM is a regional group which includes Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.

The four countries' foreign ministers held discussions within the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council held in Dublin on December 6-7.

GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili also attended the forum.

The ministers discussed the draft resolution "Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their consequences for international peace, security and development", which is planned to be submitted for discussion to the UN. The issue of GUAM summit to be held in Baku in 2013 was also in the agenda of discussions.

The Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM established in 1997 by Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova. Uzbekistan was a member of the organization from 1999 to 2005.
