The Creative Stage UNS hosted the premier of "From the Cradle to Eternity" on November 12.

The movie commemorates the life of world-famous singer and composer Muslim Magomayev.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice President Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the premier.

A photo exhibition at the theatre's lobby highlighted the life and activities of Muslim Magomayev.

Speaking at a ceremony prior to screening the movie, rector of the Baku branch of Moscow State University Professor Nargiz Pashayeva welcomed USSR People's Artist Tamara Sinyavskaya, the spouse of the late Muslim Magomayev, and President of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation Olga Rostropovich.

Pashayeva said that Magomayev's name was a part of the history of not only Azerbaijan, but also Russia and all humanity in general.

"Like a true star, he lived a short life, came down to us from heaven and then went back again. We will always remember him as a great man, a true friend, a true master, a patriot and a beautiful person. Time and space separating people are powerless against the memory of Muslim Magomayev," she said.

Praising the film by young filmmaker Mehdi Mammadov, Pashayeva noted that "we are used to hearing Magomayev's voice and performance. And in this movie, we also hear the voice of his soul. The text of the film is based on Magomayev's memoirs."

She stressed that Magomayev's song "Blue Eternity" is not an ordinary song, but "life itself".

USSR People's Artist Tamara Sinyavskaya expressed her deep gratitude to "everyone who contributed to making the film". Sinyavskaya said that the scenes of the film that reflect their early years left a good impression on her, adding that Azerbaijan is "a close and dear country" for her.

The event ended with the performance of "Blue Eternity" by singer and composer Emin Agalarov.

Muslim Magomayev has been the idol of millions of people for decades and was considered the "Soviet Frank Sinatra".

Magomayev was born on August 17, 1942 in Baku to a well-known and respected family. He not only followed in the footsteps of his remarkable relatives, but also made the family name even more famous in Azerbaijan and far beyond.
