The next export mission of Azerbaijan was organized in the Kazakhstan’s cities of Almaty and Shymkent.

Ministry of Economy says that on the first day of the export mission, representatives of Azerbaijani companies operating in the field of food products, construction and building materials held meetings with the representatives of leading companies in Almaty city of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was also devoted to development of non-oil sector, the export potential of the country, the measures to stimulate the export, competitiveness and high quality local products. In addition, discussions on expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan businessmen and export opportunities to Kazakhstan were held.

The export mission that promotes brand “Made in Azerbaijan” in Kazakhstan’s Almaty and Shymkent cities will last by October 5. The export mission, which is organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) with the support of the Ministry of Economy, includes 29 company representatives.

In the first half of the year the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan increased by 56 percent, as compared to the same period last year. The trade turnover amounted to $142.1 million in 2017 and to $142 million for the seven months of 2018.

Azerbaijan has started promoting the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand in foreign markets since 2016, and already recorded about 36.5 percent growth in the exports in January-June 2017.

As of today, 92 trademarks of Azerbaijan are protected under the brand, while the country’s total outputs nears 250 kinds of products in food, light, heavy and construction industries.

“Made in Azerbaijan” is an initiative aimed at entering new markets. The strategic markets for Azerbaijan are also considered to be EU, the countries of the Persian Gulf, China, the CIS countries, Turkey and Russia.

The number of Azerbaijan trade partners increased from 165 to 186 countries. Non-oil export of the county amounted to almost $1.4 billion in 11 months of 2017, increasing by 22 percent during the year.
